Belgica information (en): That portion of the west coast of the Antarctic Peninsula between Cape Sterneck and Cape Renard. This coast was explored in Jan. and Feb. of 1898 by the Belgian Antarctic Expedition under Adrien de Gerlache, who named that part of Palmer Peninsula for Lt. Emile Danco, responsible for the geomagnetic observations on the expedition and who died during the expedition on June 5 1898. The name for the land was later restricted to the coast only. |

Belgica information (fr): Partie de la côte ouest de la péninsule antarctique entre les caps Sterneck et Renard. Cette côte fut explorée en janvier et février 1898 par l’expédition belge en Antarctique sous le commandement d’Adrien de Gerlache et baptisée par lui en l’honneur du Lt Emile Danco, chargé des observations géomagnétiques de l’expédition. Emile Danco mourut au cours de l’expédition le 5 juin 1898. Le nom donné à cette terre fut par la suite restreint à la seule zone côtière. |

Belgica information (nl): Deel van de westkust van het Antarctische Schiereiland tussen Kaap Sterneck en Kaap Renard. Deze kust werd in januari en februari 1898 verkend door de Belgische Antarctica expeditie onder leiding van Adrien de Gerlache. Die noemde dit deel van het Palmer Schiereiland naar luitenant Emile Danco die tijdens de expeditie geomagnetische waarnemingen deed en op 5 juni 1898 overleed. Later gold de naam alleen voor de kust. |
