Belgica information (en): A bold, black cliff on a projecting point of land forming the N side of the entrance to Hughes Bay, on the W coast of Antarctic Peninsula. In 1898, the BelgAE under Lt. Adrien de Gerlache explored this area and named this cape for the German geophysicist whose apparatus was used on the expedition (http://www.mapplanet.com/?do=loc&country=_A&adm1=08&loc=20011754). |

In 1898, the Belgian Antarctic Expedition under Lt. Adrien de Gerlache explored this area and named this cape for the German geophysicist Robert Von Sterneck, Professor in Wien under whose guidance Danco was trained and whose instruments were used on the expedition. |

Belgica information (nl): Kale, zwarte klif op een uitstekende landtong die de noordzijde vormt van de toegang tot de Hughes Baai, op de westkust van het Antarctische Schiereiland. In 1898 verkende de Belgische Antarctica expeditie onder leiding van luitenant Adrien de Gerlache dit gebied en noemde deze kaap naar de Duitse geofysicus Robert Von Sterneck. Hij was professor in Wenen en leidde Danco op. De expeditie gebruikte zijn instrumenten. |
