Discovered by the BelgAE, 1897-99, and named after Prof. Edouard Van Beneden, president of the Belgica Commission and author of several of the zoological reports of the expedition.http://geonames.usgs.gov |

Belgica information (en): teep-sided headland, 700 m, forming the north side of the entrance to Andvord Bay, on the west coast of Graham Land. Discovered by the Belgian Antarctic Expedition, 1897-1899, and named after Prof. Edouard Van Beneden, president of the Belgica Commission and Professor in Botany at the University of Liège, Belgium, one of the first scientists to promote the expedition. |

Belgica information (fr): Promontoire abrupt de 700 m, délimitant le côté N de l’entrée de la baie Andvord, sur la côte O de la Terre de Graham. Découvert par l’expédition belge en Antarctique de 1897-1899 et baptisé en l’honneur du professeur Edouard Van Beneden, président de la commission Belgica et professeur de botanique à l’Université de Liège. Edouard Van Beneden fut l’un des premiers scientifiques à soutenir l’expédition. |

Belgica information (nl): 700 m hoge steil aflopende kaap die de noordzijde vormt van de ingang tot de Andvord Baai op de westkust van Graham Land. . De Belgische Antarctica expeditie (1897-1899) ontdekte de kaap en noemde hem naar professor Edouard Van Beneden, voorzitter van de Belgica-commissie en professor plantkunde aan de universiteit van Luik. Hij was één van de eerste wetenschappers die de expeditie steunde. |
