GEBCO: discoverer and year of discovery (en): Discoverer: Research vessel "Teknik Perdana". Year of discovery: 2007. History: Kadazandusun is the name of the largest indigenous group in nearby Sabah, Malaysia. These people are also known as "Momogun" or "Mamasok" which either means "originals" or "indigenous people". The term Kadazandusun is derived from merging two ethnic names: Kadazan and Dusun. The Kadazandusun people are mainly found in Penampang on the west coast of Sabah, in the surrounding localities, and in various locations in the interior. |
