Notes Additional information (en): This feature has an elongated and meandered shape. It is located offshore the State of Maranhão, in the northeast region of Brazil, extending from the slope to the abyssal plain. Minimum depth (m): 1020. Maximum depth (m): 4225. Total relief (m): 3205. Dimension/size: 370 km long.

GEBCO: discoverer and year of discovery (en): Discoverer: French research vessel "Pourquoi Pas ?". Year of discovery: 2009. History: Named from the Bacuri, the fruit of bacurizeiro, a fruit tree of Amazonian origin and quite common in the nearby Brazilian State of Maranhão. The tree can reach 40 meters high and its fruit is widely appreciated in the northern and northeastern regions of Brazil in the form of juices, sweets, truffles and ice cream.
